Adamite is an uncommon mineral that is frequently pale or brownish yellow but is also found in rose red, blue, pale greens, and even purple when it is formed in the presence of cobalt. It is named after a famous collector, Gilbert Joseph Adam.

It is found in numerous locations worldwide, including Mexico, southern Africa, in Russia, China, Canada, Greece, and New Zealand. The Cuprian Adamite from Greece is particularly attractive but expensive.

What are Adamite’s Metaphysical Properties?

Adamite gets its metaphysical properties from its crystalline structure, composite elements, and its colour primarily.

If your emotions rule you, Adamite creates emotional equilibrium and will help you to find a calm, centred space around which emotions can rage without affecting your inner serenity. It can help you communicate your needs and attract joy into your life. One of this stone’s biggest draws is its ability to restore an almost childlike sense of wonderment, banishing negativity, disillusion, cynicism, and scepticism. It has a harmonizing effect on the body and fills it with humour and joy.

Chakra Balancing Healing Properties

Adamite helps to unblock and balance

  • The Solar Plexus Chakra is the energy distribution centre and the chakra of relationships. It is located between the ribcage and navel and controls the immune and digestive systems.
  • The Heart Chakra, located near the centre of the breastbone, regulates our interaction with the external world and controls what we embrace and what we resist.
  • The Throat Chakra is the voice of the body, a pressure valve that allows the energy from the other chakras to be expressed.

Colour Energy

Yellow Adamite brings the power to solidify new interests and new relationships, helping you to see things in a different light. It adds clarity, waking things up, and adding zest, optimism, and meaning to your life and relationships. Light Yellow crystals ensure that new relationships get off to a good start by aiding in the establishment of good communication. They help you focus on the needs of the person or group you are getting to know. Dark Yellow is an excellent aid when decisiveness, precision, or persuasiveness is needed.

Brown Adamite brings a connection with the natural world. It is the colour influence of home, hearth, and nature. It helps you relax, reconnect, and regain your composure. It is a grounding stone, promoting security and stability.

Red Adamite brings a self-confidence built on fearlessness. It reflects the colour of passion, energy, and life. It motivates. It is a very strong colour – the colour of fire and blood. Dark Red crystals embody strong, deep feelings, durable energy, and quiet passion. It is a masculine colour, particularly useful for increasing devotion and seeing the seriousness of life.

How to use Adamite?

Adamite

Adamite is a stone of emotional support, centring, and calmness in the storm. It has some applications as a healing stone for the endocrine system, but primarily this stone is a wonderful support crystal for your emotional well-being.

Because of this use, it must be kept away from areas of stress, conflict, and discord when you are not using it. It also needs to be cleansed very regularly. It is a soft, sensitive stone, and you must treat it as such.

We suggest you consider keeping it locked away and used in simple meditations and simple “calm in the storm” ceremonies.

Do not use water to cleanse this crystal. Crystals ending in “ite” are generally water unsafe crystals.

According to the Cleansing Crystals Guide, “The process is one of using the cleansing power of the wind and the strong beauty of a blooming flower. Place your crystal just downwind from a beautiful flower. Allow the wind to blow over the flower and then over your crystal. The West Wind should brush through the flower petals before it reaches your crystal.”
