The winter solstice heralds the darkest time of the year. It is a good time to make wishes, as we look for the promise of light returning. Christmas cards traditionally contain wishes for the health and happiness of the recipient, often abbreviated to just “Best Wishes”. There are lots of wishes that can be made with this spell, such as those for health, happiness and peace. if you are not sure what to wish for, then meditate using candles and incense and look withinn yourself or seek guidance.
Directions
First you will need to cleanse your cone which you can do by sprinking it with salt. If you wish, you can coat your cone with a little glue so that your salt crusts onto the cone giving the appearance of snow.
Cut your parchment into tiny strips and on each strip write one or two words which contain your wish, such as “peace” or “happiness”. If you can, use black or red ink. As you write the words, clear your mind and mediate on their meaning. If you light a candle, or burn your favourite incense whist you do this, this will make your wish stronger.
roll each tiny strip on which you have written your wishing words, leaving the words on the outside of the paper. You may wish to secure the roll with some sewing threat.
Tuck each roll into the cone and as you do so, chant;
With the darkness of Yuletide
In this cone my wishes hide
As the light grows stronger soon
My wishes grow with every Moon.
Tie the red ribbon securely around the cone.
the wishing cone is now complete and can be hung on your Yuletide Tree or around your home. it can be kept for some time unbtil you feel the need to referesh your wishes, in which case it can then be buried or burned.
